Gema Lax Martínez is a postdoctoral researcher in Economics at the University of Catania, Italy, and previously at the Catholic University of Milan.
She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2023. She was a visiting student and affiliated researcher at Bocconi University’s CLEAN Unit and attended the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students at Gerzensee.
Her research focuses on conflict, political economy, and economic history. She has published in journals such as the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization and Explorations in Economic History.
