Predoc Position – CLEAN Unit – Expression of Interest
The CLEAN Unit invites expression of interest for a predoc, possibly starting in September 2026. Predocs in our unit typically work full-time, mainly presential, and contracts typically last for one or two years. We strongly value a friendly and collaborative work environment.
We look for strongly motivated candidates who wish to develop their research skills in preparation for PhD and to study social relevant issues.
The core work is empirical research using causal inference techniques and population administrative datasets, with a strong focus on the Brazilian and European contexts. The topics include a range of social issues and the effectiveness of social policy – e.g., related to crime, social benefits, economic and health shocks.
The PIs in the CLEAN Unit include Diogo Britto, Gianmarco Daniele, Paolo Pinotti, and Breno Sampaio. The predoc may also collaborate with coauthors from different leading universities around the world.
Required Skills
Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with causal inference techniques
Completed or ongoing Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or related fields with substantial quantitative coursework
Strong academic record
