Livio Di Lonardo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University and a Research Affiliate at the Carlo F. Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy. He received his Ph.D. in Politics from New York University in 2017. His research focuses on the causes and the consequences of the use of violence and the threat of violence in politics, both at the international and the national political stage. More specifically, he has written on deterrence theory, foreign intervention, the politics of counterterrorism, and the interference of organized crime in the political process.
