Migration and crime: Daniele, Pinotti & Marie debunk a common myth in Le Monde

Gianmarco Daniele and Paolo Pinotti, together with Oliver Marie, have written a piece for Le Monde titled: « Il n’y a pas de lien de cause à effet entre l’immigration et la hausse de la criminalité »
 

In this article, the authors address a topic that is frequently at the center of public and political debate: the supposed connection between immigration and crime. Drawing on academic research and empirical evidence, they argue that there is no causal relationship between the two phenomena. Despite this, the idea of such a link is often amplified in political narratives, contributing to fear and polarization without factual support.
